Offering a subtropical climate, temperatures averaging 21'C in winter and 28'C in summer at the coastal regions. Moving inland, the weather becomes more extreme - reaching higher summer temperatures and colder winter temperatures - with snow occurring on the higher lying regions.

The annual rainfall is approximately 395mm, and rainfalls occur throughout the year.

Peak seasons
As the climate is so temperate, this area is a popular holiday destination throughout the year. Peak seasons are however during the school vacation periods of December - January, March and September.
